What is a Book Crawl?
Independent bookstores around San Diego have teamed up to encourage readers to visit as many participating bookstores as possible in one weekend!
You can visit one or all fifteen, but the more bookstores you visit, the more prizes you can earn. The San Diego Book Crawl is an opportunity for readers to explore the diversity of San Diego's indie bookstores, shop local, and most of all have fun while hopefully discovering a new favorite read along the way!

Book Shuttle
Book Shuttle
Do you want to experience the crawl with fellow book enthusiasts without worrying about parking? WE HAVE A BOOK SHUTTLE!
We have several options to choose from. Itineraries and tickets for our 2026 shuttles will be available soon!
The buses will be supplied by UC San Diego transportation, and all shuttles will begin and end at UCSD. Free campus parking will be given to those who sign up!
Tickets will go on sale Friday 3/20 at 10:00am and can be purchased here

Minh Lê
Minh Lê is the author of acclaimed picture books including Drawn Together, Real to Me, and Lift, which Kirkus Reviews named one of the “Best Books of the 21st Century (So Far).” He has also written popular graphic novels such as Green Lantern: Legacy and Enlighten Me. In addition to writing books, he is on the faculty of the Hamline MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults and has been a contributor to a variety of national outlets, including NPR, HuffPost, and the New York Times.
When he’s not spending time with his family at their home in La Mesa, you can probably find him exploring the shelves at one of San Diego’s many amazing independent bookstores.

Holly Diamond
Holly Diamond
Holly Diamond is a local multimedia artist and live cinema director. She works at the Media Arts Center San Diego and is the co-founder of Cable Two, an experimental public television network. Holly is a former Marketing Intern and current Adult Programming volunteer with the San Diego Public Library. Their work focuses on how media, institutions, and community shape cultural access.

Susie Ghahremani is a local author and award-winning illustrator of many books including her newest picture book, CELEBRATE NOWRUZ!: A Persian New Year Holiday to Honor Spring by Zohreh Ghahremani.
